Brian is a graduate of Greenwood High School in Greenwood, South Carolina. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Clemson University. He is a graduate of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Louisville, Kentucky where he received the degree of Master of Divinity. He earned his Doctor of Ministry degree with an emphasis in expository preaching from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, Wake Forest, North Carolina.
After completing his degree from Clemson, Brian went to work as a Civil Engineer for Davis and Floyd, Inc. After years of struggling with the call of God on his life, he surrendered to the gospel ministry in February 1997 and was later ordained as a gospel minister on November 15, 1999. He has served at four different churches - Laurel Baptist, Greenwood, South Carolina; North Side Baptist, Greenwood, South Carolina; Shady Grove Baptist, Belton, South Carolina; and is currently the Senior Pastor at Second Baptist, Lancaster, South Carolina where he has been serving since 2007. Brian was named Pastor of the Year for larger churches in South Carolina in 2011. He also co-authored One Life Two Paths: Life lessons from a fallen king.
Brian's greatest spiritual gifts are leadership, preaching, teaching and shepherding. He uses these gifts as a servant leader to accomplish his passion for making disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ. He also has been blessed with a wonderful partner in ministry, his wife Lesley. They have two daughters, Andrea and Abigail.
Tony serves as our Church Administrator and Director of IT. He feels honored and blessed to serve the church in which he was raised. He accepted God's call to serve in this capacity in 2006. Prior to accepting God's call to serve as the Church Administrator, Tony has led the church in numerous leadership capacities since 1994. He has willingly served as the Chairman of Deacons, Chairman of Vision Team, Chairman of Finance Committee, and went on several mission trips. He has also served as an Upward Basketball coach for his grandson's team.
Born and raised in Lancaster, South Carolina, Tony previously worked for Springs Industries as the Director of IT in the Manufacturing Division. He was married to Karen Neely for 37 years until she went to be with the Lord in 2015. They have one daughter, Meredith Neely Kirk.
When Tony left Springs Industries, he asked the lord for the opportunity to use his God given abilities to grow His kingdom. In his spare time, he enjoys golfing with friends, watching Gamecock football with family, and spending time with his daughter's family and grandchildren.

I am originally from Alabama, and the Lord moved us to the Carolinas in August of 2010. Over the years, I have had the pleasure to serve the local church as student pastor, Senior Pastor, and now as Associate Pastor & Pastor of Ministry & Missions. I am married to Angela, and we have one son, JC. I enjoy spending time with my family, college football and deer/turkey hunting.
I grew up in Mint Hill, NC and graduated from Independence High School. After cramming a four year degree into five years at Gardner-Webb University, I served with the International Mission Board in Zwenshambe, Botswana as a Business Teacher and Church Planter for two and a half years.
I received my Master of Divinity with Biblical Languages in 2005 from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, TX. While attending seminary I met my wife, Heather, and after a short time of dating and even shorter engagement, we got married in August of 2004. Our first child, Makayla, was born in Texas, roots she is very proud of!
After graduating we moved to Rock Hill, SC so I could serve on staff at Northside Baptist as the Minister of Education and Students. While there we added two more kids, Elijah and Karissa, to round out the Petro crew. After five wonderful years at Northside we felt the Lord calling us to serve internationally with the International Mission Board. We served with them for six years, mainly in Zambia, before returning to the States where God graciously opened the door for us to serve here at Second Baptist.
I serve as the Discipleship Pastor at Second Baptist which gives me the opportunity to come along people and help them grow and mature in their walk with Christ. John 10:10 says, "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly." I like to think of my ministry here as helping people experience that abundant life!
On a personal level, my greatest joy is to spend time with my amazing wife Heather and my awesome kids. I also enjoy snow skiing, hunting and reading as time and opportunity allows.
